Frequently asked questions

1. Where are your garments produced, and how do you ensure ethical practices?

Our garments are crafted in collaboration with suppliers who prioritize fair treatment and uphold workers’ rights throughout their supply chains. We personally visited all our factories in 2019, confirming compliance with fair trade regulations.

2. Why do you work with suppliers from China for hemp textiles?

We believe in making a positive impact by partnering with experts in China’s hemp textile industry. Our suppliers specializing in natural fibers and fabrics are committed to reducing energy consumption, minimizing toxic chemical usage, and closely monitoring wastewater discharge to protect the environment. They also provide safe and comfortable working environments for all employees.

3. What steps do you take towards sustainability in your production process?

We’re dedicated to sustainability at every stage. Our suppliers constantly strive towards eco-friendly practices, focusing on reducing energy consumption, minimizing chemical usage, and carefully managing wastewater discharge. Additionally, our packaging is made from recycled materials, and we use biodegradable post bags to minimize environmental impact.

4. Are your dyes and materials environmentally friendly?

Yes, we use all-natural plant materials collected in Australia to create sustainable, eco-friendly dyes for our intimates. It’s vital to us that our dyes are natural and that we maintain full control over wastewater management to avoid contributing to environmental issues caused by chemical dyeing.

5. What measures are taken for carbon neutrality and reducing your environmental footprint?

We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact. To ensure transparency and accountability, we have conducted a comprehensive carbon emissions audit. Moreover, we offset our emissions by 120%, going beyond neutrality and becoming ‘climate positive.’

6. Do you plan to have onshore production in Australia?

While we aspire to have all production onshore, the current state of Australia’s hemp textile industry doesn’t fully align with this vision. However, we are passionate about striving towards a more localized production model, continuously adapting our business for enhanced sustainability and reduced carbon footprint.

7. How do you ensure transparency and avoid greenwashing?

We’re committed to transparency, believing in open communication with our customers every step of the way. Despite the challenges and evolving technologies within the fashion and hemp industries, we remain transparent about our journey, learnings, and aspirations for creating a greener footprint in the fashion world.

8. How does purchasing your garments contribute to sustainability?

By choosing our hemp garments, you’re supporting a movement towards ethical and sustainable fashion. Your purchase contributes to the growth of a sustainable hemp industry, spreading awareness about hemp’s potential, and collaborating with local hemp farmers to eventually establish onshore production for a closed-loop system.
